Hamer Quartet – Presented by The Melbourne Chamber Orchestra

The Hamer Quartet is one of Australia’s finest chamber ensembles.

Formed in 2006, Hamer Quartet were winners of the 2009 Asia Pacific Chamber Music Competition, taking out the Audience Prize, the First Prize for String Quartets and the Musica Viva Grand Prize for best Australian Ensemble.

In 2010, they were nominated as one of the Top 100 most influential by THE AGE magazine, and voted ‘Best Newcomer’ by the ABC Limelight awards.

In the same year, the quartet were fellows at Australian National Academy of Music.
